Joshua Mason, PhD
ABOUT ME
Joshua Mason is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University. He earned his PhD from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and specializes in comparative philosophy, Chinese philosophy, and ethics.
He has been teaching philosophy in universities for over 10 years, and has been teaching English for more than 15 years. His scholarly articles have been published in the leading academic journals, and his book, Justice and Harmony, was published by Lexington Press.
Dr. Mason takes a hermeneutic approach to comparison across traditions, focusing on the historical connotations of ethical ideals and metaphors. He hopes that by extending our capacity for ethical understanding, we can overcome contemporary political predicaments.
